THE POWER OF POSSIBILITY – SCHOOL PROGRAMME
-
The Power of Possibility is an interactive school experience that uses a real race car, motorsport and real-life stories to explore resilience, teamwork, career pathways, problem-solving and self-belief. The learning connects back to areas of the New Zealand Curriculum, giving students a real-world context for what they are learning in the classroom.
-
The programme has been developed primarily for Years 7–8, an important stage for building confidence, curiosity and awareness of future possibilities.
For older students, the experience can grow with them. Sessions can be adapted for Years 9–13, with a stronger focus on career pathways, trades and technical industries, women in traditionally male-dominated careers, workplace skills and the many different roles that exist behind motorsport.
-
Not at all. Motorsport is the hook, but the learning goes much further. The race car creates conversations around careers, teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, practical skills and having the confidence to try something new.
-
Yes! The real Built By Girl® race car is at the heart of the experience. Students get to see the car up close and discover the people, skills and careers hidden behind what they see on the racetrack.
-
Absolutely. Students don't just sit and listen. The experience includes discussion, real race-car components, safety equipment, interactive activities and opportunities to investigate how things work.
-
The core experience is approximately 60 minutes per session. We can discuss your class numbers and school timetable when arranging your visit.
-
Very little. We’ll discuss access, a suitable area for the race car, student numbers and safety requirements with you before the visit so everyone knows exactly what to expect.
-
Yes. The programme and supporting Teacher Resource Library have been designed to extend learning into areas including careers, technology, teamwork, resilience, problem-solving and personal development.
-
Yes. Teachers can access the Built By Girl® Teacher Resource Library, with activities designed to continue the conversations and learning back in the classroom.
-
Definitely. Built By Girl® isn't just for large schools or major centres. Making experiences accessible to students who may not normally have outside educators or opportunities come to them is an important part of the programme.
SAFETY & PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
-
Student safety is taken seriously. A structured Health & Safety process is used for school visits, including controlled access around the vehicle, supervision and clear safety expectations before students interact with the car or equipment.
-
Yes. Where appropriate and safe to do so, students may have the opportunity to experience the car up close. This is carefully supervised and will depend on the individual visit and environment.
-
Because every school and visit is different, we'll work with you beforehand to establish the best setup and discuss alternatives if weather could affect the experience.
RACING, PARTNERSHIPS & EVERYTHING ELSE
-
No. Built By Girl brings together motorsport and education. The racing side is an important part of the story — and the race car itself becomes a tool for creating real-world learning and conversations beyond the racetrack.
-
Yes. There are opportunities to support the racing, school programme, or potentially both. Partnerships can be tailored around what makes sense for the business and the impact it wants to make.
-
Yes. Enquiries are welcome for selected speaking engagements, events, media opportunities, community projects and collaborations.
